TRAINING

Technical & Engineering

OVERVIEW

Electrical Engineering normally needs to deal with large-scale of electrical systems such as power transmission. However, the person who involved in the electrical system in daily routine job may not an electrical engineer. This course is focus to non-engineers who working in the electrical engineering or involved in the task related to electric utilities. The purpose of the course is to understand the fundamental of electrical system and design of the electrical engineering. By participating in this course, you will able to understand the concept of how electrical energy operation, the different of AC & DC, transmission, power and electrical safety.

OBJECTIVE

  • Understand the basic electrical theory
  • Understand the single and three phase power system
  • Alternate current and direct current
  • Gain a solid understanding of power system
  • Broaden your knowledge of transmission system
  • How electrical protection work
  • Adopt the strategies of estimate the electrical cost calculation
  • Understand the electrical safety

WHO SHOULD ATTEND

  • Non-electrical engineers
  • Who have a special interest in electrical engineering but not an engineer
  • Young electrical engineers who wish to enhance their practical knowledge of electrical engineering
  • Operation supervisor
  • Non electrical supervisor
  • Junior engineer / plant engineer

OVERVIEW

Standby generator is an essential equipment, normally installed at any premise which act as an alternative power source supply in case the normal power supply (TNB) fails. Normally it is left unattended and operates automatically during the failure of normal power supply.

There have been many cases whereby standby generators were left unattended. And as a result, at times failed to operate as to the required performance especially during failure of power supply. High level of awareness should be imposed to everyone involve in the aspect of operation, maintenance and troubleshooting to overcome the problem of standby generator failure as and when required.

OBJECTIVE

  • To enhance the operation, maintenance and troubleshooting of standby generator
  • To reduce downtime due to failure of standby generator
  • To ensure smooth operation
  • To minimise cost of maintenance

WHO SHOULD ATTEND

  • Technical personnel (Manager, Engineer, Supervisor, Chargeman, Technician etc.) who are directly or indirectly involve in the operation and maintenance of electrical installation equipped with standby generator.

OVERVIEW

Predictive maintenance (PDM) or condition-based maintenance attempts to evaluate the condition of equipment by performing periodic inspections while the equipment is still in service. The ultimate goal of PdM is to perform maintenance “just in time”, before the equipment fails in service. This two-day course is for maintenance personnel, operators and managers who desire to understand how condition monitoring can increase the efficiency of their maintenance program while reducing costs. This course will teach you what equipment to monitor, what technologies to monitor it with and how to measure your success. Participants will gain an understanding of real-world applications to help them implement a PdM program at their facility. With ever increasing demands from top management to do more work and decrease costs, investing in predictive maintenance and condition monitoring makes more sense today than ever. While many organizations still rely heavily on time-based maintenance, it is a proven fact that condition monitoring maintenance requires less personnel, saves money and downtime.

This course provides the fundamentals of PdM and condition monitoring applicable to plants, facilities and manufacturing lines. Predictive Maintenance & Condition Monitoring will provide engineers with a framework to make the right decisions on what equipment needs condition monitoring, what technologies to use to meet their needs and how to measure the effectiveness of their decisions. In addition to exposing participants to the principles and options for a program, they will learn about real world applications that have benefited from PdM programs.

OBJECTIVE

Upon completion of this course, participants would have learned to:

  • Describe the Benefits of a PdM & Condition Monitoring Program
  • Identify What Equipment to Monitor
  • Understand Different PdM Technologies
  • Predict What Maintenance Needs to be done and when
  • How to choose the right PdM Technology
  • Measure the Effectiveness of Maintenance Decisions
  • Communicate the Condition Monitoring Program through the Facility
  • How to Choose a PdM Service Provider
  • How to Implement a PdM Program

WHO SHOULD ATTEND

OVERVIEW

GT driven power generation (powergen) is the producing of electrical power by the system consist of the two important equipment i.e. GT and electrical generator coupled by connecting shaft which requires accurate alignment and other supporting and auxiliary equipment.

In this course, we will ONLY focus on the rotating equipment i.e. GT and relevant components. The coverage will cover among others the materials and system connection and the working principles.

In short, we can say from components materials/parts inspection to the scheduled & unscheduled maintenance.

In overview, these consist of the following aspects of 5M’s:

  • M1 – Material / parts from supplier
  • M2 – Manpower competency for execution
  • M3 – Machinery and Tools for maintenance
  • M4 – Methodology of inspection for maintenance
  • M5 – Monetary as capital for CAPEX and OPEX.

OBJECTIVE

To give an overview the whole spectrum of gas turbine function, components and working system of GT. Analyze the factors that determine the achievement of high-quality product based on Standards of acceptable worldwide standards.

To implement the GT powergen O&M execution in the perspective of PROJECT MANAGEMENT covering the 9 Essentials i.e.

  1. Integration
  2. Scope
  3. Time
  4. Cost
  5. Quality
  6. Human Resource
  7. Communication
  8. Risk
  9. Procurement
